Ambit Benefits - Program Overview

If you’re like most energy customers, you’re probably not used to generosity from your energy company. So you probably won't believe this next part. If you’re an Ambit Energy customer, we actually appreciate your business. And we want to reward you for becoming, then staying, a loyal customer.
That's why we've created one of the most attractive customer rewards programs in the industry. We want you to sign up, and then enjoy the benefits of being an Ambit Energy customer. So in addition to our competitive energy rates and great customer service, here’s what you can get:
A Fabulous Welcome Gift

When you become an Ambit customer, you’ll receive a Welcome Gift just for enrolling. Weird, huh? Right now, that gift is a travel voucher good for a FREE 3-Day/2-Night stay for two at a 3-Star hotel at one of 25 exciting destinations nationwide. You don't see too many energy companies doing that.

Earn Free Energy!
Once you’re an Ambit customer and saving money, you can save even more. In fact, you can all but eliminate your Ambit Energy payment every month when you refer enough customers to use our service.

Travel Rewards
Need to get away? We can help. As a customer, you have two ways to earn free travel. You can refer customers or you can earn Rewards Points that can be redeemed for all sorts of trips, cruises and getaways. And that’s for being an Ambit customer.

 Earn Free Energy

About now, you're asking yourself “What is all this hubbub about free energy? How can you guys stay in business if you’re just giving electricity away?” Well, we figure, if you refer a few friends or family members to us, that you deserve a little reward for it. That seems fair, doesn’t it?

So here’s the deal: when you refer a minimum of 15 paying customers, you’ll receive a credit* on your Ambit Energy bill equal to the average amount of their payments. And that’s not just for one month, either.
That credit applies every month as long as you maintain a minimum of 15 referred customers who pay their bills. If the average of your referred customers' monthly payments is equal to, or more than, your energy usage for the month, you pay nothing for your energy! Nada!
Still need more info?

* Disclaimer: In order to be included in the calculation to determine the amount of credit the referring customer will receive, if any, a referred customer must be active and in good standing with Ambit Energy, and must pay their bill. The referring customer cannot receive a credit such that it generates a negative balance. The amount of the credit is equal to the average amount of all customer payments. Texas customers will receive a credit on their bill up to the entire amount of their energy usage. Illinois customers will receive a credit on their bill for up to the entire amount of the energy supply portion of their bill. New York customers can receive a check or bill credit for up to the entire amount of the energy supply portion of their bill.

 Travel Rewards

At Ambit, we love to travel almost as much as we love helping people save on their energy bills. That’s why we’ve created our Travel Rewards program for you.  Just for being a customer, or referring customers to Ambit Energy, you can land a voucher for free airfare, a Caribbean cruise, or even a golf getaway. There are two ways to earn free travel:
  1. When you start referring customers, the rewards start coming your way. Refer just five customers to Ambit, your affordable electric company and we’ll send you on vacation. You’ll get a choice of any package that’s 45,000 points or less, like airfare for two or a cruise. It’s that simple. Of course, when you’ve referred 15 customers, that’s when the free energy kicks in.
So, in addition to great savings on your Ambit energy rates, you can also enjoy a vacation on us - just for being a loyal customer and referring others! To be up front, there may be some fine print on the travel. Some of the vouchers may have restrictions or requirements, but that’s like any travel operator. Anyhow, we’ll keep you posted on those.

Ambit Energy intro Our History

Ambit Energy was founded in early 2006 at a Potbelly’s restaurant in Addison, Texas over a couple of turkey sandwiches. Introduced through a mutual friend, Jere Thompson and Chris Chambless met for lunch to discuss energy deregulation. They liked the opportunity, and they liked each other. During lunch, they made a few important decisions: to build the finest and most respected retail energy company in America, provide affordable electricity and gas, and to never sacrifice their integrity for growth.
Jere Thompson, Jr. and Chris Chambless
The work began immediately in an office space borrowed from Jere’s brother, David. A few weeks later, Jere and Chris set up their own offices in an open, renovated warehouse in the historic West End district of downtown Dallas, Texas. They bought several $19 fold-up tables to use as desks and assembled an experienced team of executives who shared their vision. The rest is history and the results have been extraordinary.
In 2008, Ambit recorded revenues of almost $200 million and nearly $325 million in 2009. In fact, as a result of our tremendous growth, Ambit Energy was named the fastest-growing privately held company in north Texas by SMU's Caruth Institute for Entrepreneurship in their annual Dallas 100™ rankings.
And 2010 was another banner year when it came to recognition for the company. For the second year in a row, Ambit was ranked #1 on the SMU/Cox Dallas 100™ and among the Top 100 Places to Work by the Dallas Morning News. But the biggest achievement of them all was being named "America’s Fastest-Growing Private Company" by Inc. magazine, which placed Ambit on top of the publication’s renowned "Inc. 500" list.
Today, our existing customer relationships are managed by a well-trained, US-based Customer Care center. BlueNet™ manages all aspects of the customer life-cycle, from the utility transactions that take place between customers and transmission providers to web-based account management tools, to billing and collections.
Right now, we're one of the fastest growing retail energy providers in every market where we operate. And all of the members of our executive team, including Jere and Chris, still sit at those $19 fold-up tables. Stop by for a visit the next time you’re in Dallas.
